drastic times call for drastic measures

Today, I'm just curious.
I'm curious to hear about your story.
What is the most drastic thing you've done for God?
Was it a big move across the country?
Was it witnessing to someone?
Was it a career change?
A break up?
I'd love to know.

What is the most drastic thing you've been called to do while following God?

Obedience. Obedience is always the most drastic thing God calls us to. I have obeyed God and moved across the country so far from my family, my home, and my ocean. I have obeyed God and stayed in my marriage when things were bad, when I had every "right" to leave, when my "needs" weren't getting met and I was "unhappy." I stayed. I have obeyed God and faced Truths He brought me to when they were different than what I thought, different than what I had been taught in my home, different than what I had experience. I have been obedient to be stretched by these truths, to confront culture with these truths. I parent by the Bible and filter all things that come into my home through Col. 2:8 and trust me, that is radical. Obedience is always radical in our independent, self-centered, self-reliant world. But 1 thing I know through the grace of my Savoir Jesus Christ is that GOD HONORS OBEDIENCE!!!

Most likely the craziest thing I've ever Done is become your youth pastor.
Going into full time ministry was jumping out of the nest for me and Karen. We are enjoying the flight. Somedays we end with a crash landing but God is able to rebuild the plane, so we aren't too worried. I guess the other outrageous thing was going to Peru and witnessing to people in spanish when I didn't know spanish? There are a lot of day to day ways too that God is teaching me to trust Him more and more. He is able.
